On 24 September Adobe plugged four of its tools into Google's assistant. Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Express and Firefly now run from inside a Gemini conversation, on every Gemini plan, the free one included. The same day Adobe added Acrobat, its PDF software, to the plugin it already runs inside Claude.
In practice, a business owner with no designer and no Photoshop subscription can describe the edit in the chat, and the assistant calls the Adobe tool and hands back the result. Adobe's own examples are fixing lighting and colour on a product photo, adapting one design to the sizes different social networks need without losing the branding, and personalising a ready-made Express template for a campaign.
Turning it on in Gemini
The connection is off until you switch it on. In Gemini's settings, open Personal Intelligence, pick Adobe from the list of connected apps, and sign in with an Adobe account or create a free one. You can also start as a guest with no account. An Adobe account brings higher usage limits, storage for your files, and continuity from one conversation to the next.
Adobe has not said how many edits a guest gets or how many an account holder gets, and it published no prices. The rollout started worldwide on the day of the announcement, but a footnote from Adobe says availability varies, and it named no list of countries. The rollout is gradual, so the option may not have reached every account yet.
Hebrew is not on the language list
Adobe lists German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese. Hebrew is not there. Write the edit request in English, and check any Hebrew text that appears on the design itself before it goes to customers, including its direction.
Acrobat inside Claude
Adobe's Claude plugin now carries more than 80 tools across Acrobat, Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign and Adobe Stock. The new part is PDF. You can delete pages, merge several files into one or split one apart, redact sensitive details, and convert a PDF to another format. There is also an editor for reordering pages, fixing text and adding comments, and a document review skill that reads a file and returns an analysis with recommendations.
The plugin works in Claude and in Claude Code, on desktop, web and mobile. Guests can use it too, and signing in to Adobe unlocks higher limits and extra tools. Anyone who already connected Adobe to Claude gets the updated plugin automatically.
Where a small business saves time
Redaction is the tool to know. A sole trader sending a document to an accountant, a bank or a lawyer that contains an ID number, bank details or another client's information can black those out before sending, with no extra software. Merging saves the familiar moment of having to send ten scanned receipts as one file.
On the visual side, a small shop that photographs its products on a phone can fix the lighting and prepare the same image for a post, a story and a banner, all from one conversation.
Two things before uploading files. First, a document sent to an AI assistant passes through the servers of two companies, the assistant's and Adobe's, and Adobe's announcement did not say how long it keeps files. A client's invoice or a payslip is better redacted first in a local tool, or not uploaded at all. Second, Adobe calls the Gemini connection a first step and says more tools will follow, so what is available today may change.
