Slate compared with Invoice4u
An Invoice4u plan sets two things: how many documents you may issue in a month, and how many businesses fit in one account. Everything else is sold as a module on top of the plan. This page takes both apart.

What Invoice4u is
An Israeli document issuing system with card clearing and payment pages built in, in the market for years. The trial runs two months. Plans are named after colours, with a layer of separately priced modules above them.

All prices exclude VAT. The lower monthly figure requires paying a year up front. Slate is free, subject to the terms.

Modules stack on top of the plan rather than replacing it.
Where the bill doubles
Pink at ₪21 is a low entry point, but 50 documents a month run out fast in a business that issues a receipt for every payment. The document cap and the business count rise together, so a third business means a new plan even when 50 documents were enough.
The plan called unlimited documents costs ₪59 a month and is capped at 1,000 documents per calendar month.
The modules are what really move the bill. Double-entry bookkeeping at ₪120 and PCN874 reporting at ₪69 are each larger than any of the first four plans. A business running both pays more for the modules than for the system.

What Slate includes at no charge
No caps and no modules. Document count, business count and user count do not affect the price, and no capability opens up for a monthly add-on.
Allocation numbers in the background. The request goes out after issuing is already finished, so the document never waits on the Tax Authority. When a request is rejected, the three alternatives the law allows are available from the document page. Details in the allocation number guide.
Import with a reconciliation report. The Open Format file from your previous system is read and shown as a report before a single line is written, so you can stop before wrong history enters the books.
Documents in English and foreign currency. Document language, billing currency and VAT rate are three separate settings on the same document, zero-rated export transactions included. Detail in the English invoice guide.
Card clearing for your customers exists in Invoice4u and does not exist in Slate. A business that collects through a payment page as part of the flow will want a system with clearing built in.
What to check before moving
Export the Open Format file from the plan you are on, import it into Slate, and only then issue the first new document, so the numbering sequence carries straight on.
